You probably already know that Andrea Deck makes a lasting first impression. But what you might not know is that you probably heard her before you saw her.

That’s because the American film, TV and theatre actress’s big breakthrough actually came when she voiced lead character Amanda Ripley, daughter of the iconic hero Ellen Ripley, in the award-winning 2014 survival horror game, Alien: Isolation, which also starred Sigourney Weaver from the original film, as well as reprising the role of Amanda in the subsequent games and in Alien: Isolation - The Digital Series.

Of course, the starring sci-fi role came after being classically trained as a teenager.

Andrea Deck grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where, at the age of 15, she began embarked on her dreams of being an actress by heading to the Interlochen Center for the Arts summer camp, where she trained until she graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School at the age of 18.

After graduating, the actress left her small town to move across the Atlantic and pursue her dreams. She moved to London, England, to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree with honours in professional acting.

Since, Andrea Deck has gone on to star in various films, TV shows and video games.

She’s probably best recognised as portraying CIA agent Jenna Bragg, in the six time Emmy award winning Showtime series Homeland, a character she describes as “doing questionable things”. It’s not the first global drama she’s appeared in, though: the American actress can be seen in the Amazon Original series Hanna, and has appeared in Netflix’s Golden Globe-winning The Crown, and in British period drama Mr Selfridge.

Andrea Deck has displayed her talents behind the camera, too, working as a Producer on the film, Creditors.

Andrea notes Charlize Theron as one of her biggest filmmaking idols. When asked in an interview about her biggest inspiration, she said, “Hard work. Absolute dedication to what you want. The ability to constructively collaborate and be part of a team. Those are all traits I find absolutely inspirational, and anyone I come across that has any of that in them I really admire and strive to learn from. In terms of actors, Charlize Theron is someone I admire a great deal.”

When she’s not displaying her acting chops in some of the biggest action franchises on TV and video games, Andrea creates content for her own Youtube channel. Andrea has Type1 diabetes, and in her free time, is passionate about helping others to deal with the condition through her dedicated Youtube and Instagram channels, where she shares her own journey with her followers.
